How to Make Seer’s Tea Recipe

Different blends of seer’s tea contain different ingredients, but there are several herbs, fruits, and flowers that are commonly found in the seer’s tea blend:

  • Dried apple
  • Black tea
  • Bay leaves
  • Jasmine
  • Cinnamon
  • Mugwort
  • Nutmeg
  • Star anise
  • Thyme
  • Lavender
  • Chamomile
  • Damiana
  • Bleeding Heart root tincture (often added after tea has steeped)

To make seer’s tea, add black tea bags and a combination of the above herbs (one tablespoon of the blend) and cover herbs in hot water. It’s best to keep the herbs contained in a muslin bag, or keep a tea strainer nearby as the tea will have to be strained before drinking.

Allow the tea to steep for ten minutes or until it has reached the strength that you prefer.

Keep in mind that the longer you allow seer’s tea to steep, the stronger it will act and taste. However, black tea that is steeped for a long time may become bitter, so don’t overdo it.

Seer’s tea can either be brewed by the 8 oz cup or in a large batch. Batches of seer’s tea can be served either as hot tea, as cold tea, or at room temperature.

Once brewed, many add a few drops of bleeding heart tincture to increase the intuitive properties.

What Does Seer’s Tea Taste Like?

Seer’s tea has a similar flavor to mugwort tea, especially if mugwort is included as one of the ingredients in the seer’s tea blend.

Mugwort tea tends to have an earthy flavor that has notes of grass and dirt. To help improve its flavor, a bit of honey is often added.

Uses of Seer’s Tea

Seer tea is a popular mixture for use in tea spells and other rituals related to witchcraft and folk charms.

Because it has a reputation for helping to open the third eye and increase intuitive abilities, seer’s tea is favored by people who use it as a powerful tool to unlock the potential of their unconscious mind.

In witchcraft and other metaphysical rituals, seer’s tea is often served in a seer’s bowl that is used for scrying as well as drinking.

Physical Health Benefits of Seer’s Tea

Even though seer’s tea is most often consumed for its mental effects, there are also some physical health benefits associated with consuming this tea.

Here are the physical health benefits you can gain by drinking seer’s tea:

  • Digestive health: The ingredients in seer’s tea are known to help aid digestive health by combating bad bacteria in the digestive system and reducing gut inflammation.
  • Nervous system health: Along with aiding sleep and dreamwork, seer’s tea acts as a soothing agent on the central nervous system, reducing symptoms associated with anxiety.
  • Reduced blood pressure: The ingredients in seer’s tea can be used to help naturally reduce blood pressure in those with hypertension, reducing the chance of stroke or heart attack.
  • Antioxidants: Seer’s tea blends include black tea that is full of free radical fighting antioxidants. These antioxidants help combat degenerative diseases like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.
  • Sore throat: Seer’s tea contains several ingredients that can help reduce inflammation and hot tea can serve to relieve pain for those with bacterial infections or viruses.

Even if seer’s tea didn’t have effects on mental health, it would still be worth drinking just for the physical benefits alone. Luckily for tea enthusiasts, this tea hosts a variety of mental health benefits, too.

Just because something isn’t used in Western medicine, doesn’t mean it isn’t a valuable addition to your herbal medicine cabinet.
